Access to UK birdwatching sites.

The Links below will take you to information on reserves, preserves, parks and other sites of interest to birders. Only areas which have been, to greater or lesser extent, assessed as to their accessibility are included. We welcome further locations from members or the general public but ask both to use our access form to assess them so that we can all compare like with like.

Members can request Fact sheets for reserves in various parts of the UK - So far there are such sheets for:
Buckinghamshire - College Lake
Dorset - Weymouth area including Radipole and Lodmoor, Portland and Abbotsbury Swannery
Hertfordshire - Rye Meads, Amwell Gravel Pits and Maple Lodge
Kent - Stodmarsh, Grove Ferry & Dungeness
Rutland & Leicestershire - Rutland Water, Eyebrook and Lyndon
In the UK some organisations are making great efforts to improve access...
RSPB - Disabled Access Many of the RSPB`s nature reserves have facilities suitable for visitors with special needs. Some will have hides that have been adapted to allow access for wheelchairs, and many have special paths and boardwalks installed...
